We believe that a strong training program is the foundation of any good fire company. While our classes have standard timeframes, we are committed to customizing them to suit the unique needs of your department or region. We value your time, recognizing it as our most precious and finite resource. Your decision to invest your time with us is held in the highest regard, and we strive to ensure that every moment spent in training is reinvested into your department.
PERFECTING THE INITIAL LINE
“So goes the first line, so goes the incident.”
It could be argued that within the initial 300 seconds of an incident, there’s no action more crucial for enhancing the likelihood of a positive outcome than a correctly deployed and functioning initial attack line. This three-day Hands-On Training (H.O.T.) is designed to evaluate that initial line, using modern scientific data alongside proven tactic- and task-level actions.
Students will get reps in drills covering aggressive hose movement and fire attack strategies to improve the initial attack lines’ probability of success. By the end of this course, students will have a deeper understanding of what it takes to achieve an efficient and effective initial line.
PERFECTING THE PUMP OPERATOR
The driver/operator role stands as one of the most positions on the fireground. This comprehensive two-day course is tailored to provide students with the requisite knowledge and problem-solving skills crucial for optimizing their performance in this critical role. Participants will gain insight into the function and capabilities of their engine/pump and the roles and responsibilities of a pump operator, better equipping them to address emergent challenges efficiently.
The first day of the course is predominantly lecture, delving into the cognitive intricacies of operator position. Students will enhance their comprehension of their engine through the key concepts and information provided. Subsequently, practical application takes precedence on the second day as students transition to the training grounds. Here, they witness firsthand operators’ effective manipulation of tools to unlock their full potential, thus translating theoretical understanding into practical proficiency.
PERFECTING THE FORCE
This course aims to reconnect with the fundamentals of conventional forcible entry. New tools and techniques often boil down to a one-trick pony or a specialized, one-use tool, reserve a place in our “toolbox,” and have lessened the emphasis on conventional F.E. techniques. This course is designed to refocus on those principles, emphasizing the effectiveness of the irons—a potent toolset that, when in the right hands, can quickly and efficiently open the vast majority of our obstacles.
